TURKEY COATED FLAT STEEL: Prices up on improvement in demand

Turkish prices for hot-dipped galvanized coil (HDG) and color-coated coil, or pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI), increased in the week to Friday November 22, with demand improving because of low stocks and the expectation that prices will rise further, sources told Fastmarkets.

A rise in raw materials prices was the reason for the higher steel prices, they added.
Fastmarkets' daily index for steel scrap, HMS 1&2 (80:20 mix), US origin, cfr Turkey, was $264.24 per tonne on November 22, up from $260.03 per tonne on November 15.
