TURKEY DOMESTIC STEEL SCRAP: Prices down in line with falling import values

Turkish domestic scrap prices have continued to weaken over the past week in line with falling imported scrap values, market participants told Fastmarkets on Monday August 23.

Turkish steel mills continued to book deep-sea scrap cargoes with prices continuing to weaken throughout the week to August 23.

Fastmarkets' daily index for steel scrap, HMS 1&2 (80:20 mix), US origin, cfr Turkey was calculated at $451.38 per tonne on August 20, down from $460.81 per tonne a week earlier.
