TURKEY FLAT STEEL: HRC prices decrease on low import offer prices, CRC prices remain strong

Hot-rolled coil prices decreased in the Turkish domestic and export markets during the week to Friday June 18, while cold-rolled coil prices were stable, sources told Fastmarkets.

"Demand in the domestic market, especially the manufacturing sector is still strong. But lower import prices and the lack of clarity over China's export taxes resulted in uncertainty," one market participant said.
Cautious trading due to the uncertainty surrounding China's new export taxes continued this week.
Fastmarkets' steel hot-rolled coil index export, fob main port China was $897.84 per tonne on Friday, down from $906.67 per tonne on June 11.
