TURKEY FLAT STEEL: HRC prices down slightly, CRC goes in opposite direction

Turkish domestic hot rolled coil prices fell slightly, while cold-rolled coil prices increased in the week to Friday, June 11, amid moderate demand, sources told Fastmarkets.

Flat steel imports, meanwhile, were the opposite, with HRC prices increasing and CRC on the decline.
"Everyone is waiting to see what will happen in the global markets. Prices fell about two weeks ago in China, but then started to increase again. Scrap prices [also] went down and then up, so there is no hurry to book for October production now - let's see a stabilized market first," one market participant said.

"Demand in the manufacturing sector in Turkey is very strong, so, prices are unlikely to see significant falls,"...
