TURKEY FLAT STEEL: Market in holiday mood; activity expected to improve after holidays

Activity in the Turkish flat steel market weakened further during the week to Friday July 9, ahead of the public holidays that start in the country on July 15.

July 15 is Democracy Day in Turkey, and the Ei al-Adha holidays will take place from July 19-24.
Uncertainty on prices also contributed to weak buying activity in Turkey. Hot-rolled coil prices increased during the week in China, while prices in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the biggest flat steel exporter to Turkey, decreased.
As a result, price increases and decreases were heard in the Turkish flat steel market this week.
