TURKEY FLAT STEEL: Most prices decrease; holiday mood continues in market

Most flat steel prices decreased in Turkey during the week ending Friday August 13; buying was slow due to the holiday season and expectations that prices may fall further.

Hot-rolled coil producers were accepting orders for November during the week, but some still had limited allocations for October production, sources told Fastmarkets.
Market participants believe prices may still have room to fall because of globally weak demand as well as decreasing raw material costs.
Fastmarkets' daily index for iron ore 62% Fe fines, cfr Qingdao was $162.07 per tonne on August 13, falling from $172.51 per tonne on August 6.
