TURKEY FLAT STEEL: Most prices down on weak demand, falling material costs

Most prices for steel coil products in Turkey decreased over the week ended Friday April 12, with buying activity remaining subdued.

Demand in the local market was still weak because of the uncertainty after mayoral elections held across the country on March 31, and the continuing weakness of the Turkish lira.Unofficially, the Justice & Development Party (AKP) - the party of national government - won the majority of the mayoral election votes, but the country's principal cities, including Ankara, Istanbul, Adana and Antalya, were all thought to have elected mayors from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP).The official results for Istanbul have yet to be declared in full, with disputes over some counts...
