Demand strengthened because stocks among buyers were low, Turkish sources said.
Scrap prices continued to increase during the week on reduced availability. Fastmarkets' daily index for steel scrap, HMS 1&2 (80:20 mix), US origin, cfr Turkey, was $258 per tonne on April 17, up from $242.98 per tonne on April 9.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled coil, export, fob main port Turkey, was $390-400 per tonne on April 17, widening upward by $5 from $390-395 per tonne on April 9.
Demand was weak in export markets with no major deals heard.
