TURKEY FLAT STEEL: Strong demand boosts prices; producers to offer Sept-production soon

Hot-rolled coil (HRC) and cold-rolled coil (CRC) prices in Turkey kept increasing over the week to Thursday April 22, while producers have said they will start offering September-production material next week, sources told Fastmarkets.

Demand was strong in the local and export markets for Turkish flat steel because of low stock levels, sources said.
Global prices have also been increasing sharply as well, with Europe suffering from a shortage for flat steel, Fastmarkets was told.
Some market participants believe price increases will continue until at least September because of the global shortage, while others think the price increases will continue until the end of 2021.
