TURKEY FLAT STEEL WRAP: All prices down in September, market sentiment fails to improve

Turkish flat steel prices continued to fall through September and the market participants are not expecting any improvements in the short term, sources told Fastmarkets on Tuesday, October 5.

Demand for flat steel was weak to moderate in all global markets during September.
European buyers held back from trading, while the downtrend continued in the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Iron ore prices also continued to decline significantly in September.
Fastmarkets' daily index for Iron ore 62% Fe fines, cfr Qingdao was $119.23 per tonne on September 30, down from $143.43 per tonne on September 1.
Turkish hot-rolled coil producers are still accepting orders for November production.
Crude steel output
Turkey produced 3.5 million tonnes of crude steel in August 2021, up 7.1% year on year, according to the Turkish Steel Producers Association (T???oeD).
This was the highest monthly output ever recorded, T???oeD said, adding that turkey ranked the seventh biggest steel producer globally in August.
