TURKEY LONG STEEL: Domestic prices down on soft demand, falling scrap costs

Domestic steel rebar and wire rod prices in Turkey have gone down over the past week in response to falling scrap costs and soft demand in the local market, sources said on Thursday January 28.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, exw Turkey, was 5,200-5,300 lira ($705-718) per tonne on Thursday, down from last week's 5,450-5,550 lira per tonne.The steel mills in Turkey have cut their offers for local buyers...
