TURKEY LONG STEEL: Improving demand, costlier scrap push up prices

Turkish domestic long steel prices have increased slightly over the past week in line with rising imported scrap costs and improving demand, sources said on Thursday June 4.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar) domestic, exw Turkey was 3,250-3,300 lira ($483-491) on Thursday, up from 3,230-3,290 lira per tonne last week, including 18% VAT.

Domestic rebar prices in the Izmir region were at 3,260-3,300 lira per tonne ex-works, while Istanbul and Karab? 1/4 k region prices...
