Turkey's Erdemir to receive 2 blast furnaces from Paul Wurth

Equipment maker Paul Wurth will supply two new blast furnaces to Turkish Erdemir Group's plant located in Eregli, northern Turkey, and Isdemir plant located in Iskenderun, southern Turkey, Paul Wurth said last week.

In both cases, one completely new furnace will replace an older production unit, Paul Wurth said.The new blast furnace at the Erdemir location will produce 5,000 tonnes per day of hot metal from an inner volume of 2,188 cubic meters. At Isdemir works in Iskenderun, the new blast furnace will produce 7,900 tpd, which would further increase the hot metal capacity at this site, Paul Wurth said.Current demand...
