Turkish HRC exports fall, other flat steel exports up in November

Turkish exports of flat steel products increased by 2.46% year on year to 416,333 tonnes in November 2020, according to figures recently released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

This compared with a volume of 406,321 tonnes in November 2019, TUIK said.
Despite the increase in the total exported volume, Turkey's hot-rolled coil flat steel exports decreased by 25.28% to 186,574 tonnes in November.
The reason for this sharp decrease was strong local demand in Turkey, as well as recent trade investigations by the European Commission (EC).
