Turkish January-October crude steel output down 10.6%

Turkey produced 27.973 million tonnes of crude steel in January-October 2019, down 10.6% from the corresponding period last year, the Turkish Steel Producers Association (T???oeD) said on Monday November 18.

The drop in output was largely attributed to subdued end-user demand and weakening export markets for Turkish steel.The European Commission (EC) imposed definitive safeguard duties on imports of a range of steel products on February 1. The Commission then adjusted the measures on October 30.
