Two Arrested After Armed Raid on Jewelry Store

(IDEX Online) - Two suspects have been arrested after an armed robbery in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, that left a jewelry store worker in a critical condition with a gunshot wound.Matthew David Jones, 22, and Helen Ann Simmons, 18, were caught two days later at Huntington Beach, California, 400 miles away, following an hour-long car chase that was caught on camera.One suspect allegedly pointed a gun at employees while the other smashed display cases and stole jewelry at Andrew Z Diamonds and Fine Jewelry, in Anthem, Phoenix.An eyewitness told the Fox 10 TV station she saw two armed suspects wearing motorcycle helmets, then heard five or six gunshots.Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, California said: "The suspects arrested matched the same description as the suspects involved in the armed robbery at the jewelry store in Anthem."Screen grab courtesy Fox 10 shows a suspect surrendering after an hour-long chase.
