UK FERROUS SCRAP: Grade 5C prices stable as yard inflows remain healthy

Prices for light iron, grade-5C steel scrap from the United Kingdom were largely unchanged this week, with buyers continuing to secure satisfactory volumes of material and paying current market prices, sources told Metal Bulletin on Friday February 16.

The key scrap export markets in Turkey and India strengthened this week, but the knock-on effect to the UK grade-5C market has been limited so far, according to market participants."You look at most yards and they are getting enough material in, so why would they put their [buying] price up now?" one UK scrap source said."We haven't had much pressure on us and we are getting enough scrap in at the moment," another source said.Metal Bulletin's price assessment for UK grade-5C...
