UK STEEL SCRAP WEEKLY: Market flat ahead of long weekend

UK inter-merchant spot prices for light iron scrap were unchanged in the week to Friday August 28 due to the upcoming summer bank holiday in the country keeping trading quiet, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel scrap 5C, loose old light, domestic, delivered inter-merchant, UK was ?95-105 ($125-138) per tonne on Friday, unchanged week on week.
The market was quiet this week ahead of the UK's summer bank holiday on Monday August 31, with some taking time off before this and others expected to also be off work next week.
