Ukraine sets 16% import duty on rebar from Belarus

Ukraine is set to impose a special duty on steel rebar imports from neighboring Belarus at a rate of 16.08% in response to "discriminatory and unfriendly actions by Belarus against Ukrainian steel producers," according to a notice published in a government newspaper earlier this week.

The duty will affect carbon and other alloy round and deformed bars in diameters up to 40mm, both cut-to-length and in coils, according to a notice published in Ukrainian government newspaper Uryadovy Kurier on Wednesday November 25.
The duty is scheduled to be enforced seven days from the date of publication of the notice, meaning December 3.
