Ferrous scrap export prices for shipments from the United States to Turkey have held above $340 per tonne cfr, but East Coast exporters were seen holding the line on dock buying prices despite gains in the export and domestic markets.
Two cargoes were sold from the US to Turkey over the past seven days.An East Coast cargo reported on Thursday November 1 concluded up $7 per tonne compared with the previous sale on October 25, at $341 per tonne cfr for an 80:20 mix of No1 and No2 heavy melting scrap, $346 per tonne cfr for shredded scrap and $351 per tonne cfr for bonus-grade scrap.On Monday November 5, a Turkish steelmaker booked a Gulf Coast cargo containing 14,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $340 per tonne cfr - off $1 from the November 1 East Coast sale.
