US cif aluminium premium feels weight of Midwest sag

The P1020 cif Baltimore premium in the United States dropped considerably this week, largely due to the depressed Midwest duty-paid premium.

Fastmarkets AMM's assessment of the cif Baltimore premium put it at 5.75-6.25 cents per lb on Tuesday October 30, down by 11.1% from 6.5-7 cents per lb one week earlier. Meanwhile, Fastmarkets AMM's assessment for the Midwest duty-paid aluminium premium held at 19.25-19.75 cents per lb on Tuesday compared with the October 26 assessment.According to market participants, the cif premium needed to fall in order to make buying on a cif...
