US cold-rolled, coated coil prices fall to $42/cwt

Prices for cold-rolled and hot-dipped galvanized coil in the United States have fallen further over the past week, following similar declines in the hot-rolled coil market.

Fastmarkets AMM assessed both the domestic cold-rolled coil and coated steel base prices at $42 per hundredweight ($840 per short ton) on Thursday December 20, down $1 per cwt from $43 per cwt a week earlier. Fastmarkets AMM's all-in price for steel with a G90 coating also fell by $1 per cwt, to $46.75 per cwt.One distributor put standard prices for CRC and coated steel at $42 per cwt, adding that $40.50-41...
