US Galvalume price hits new record on tight supply

Galvalume prices in the United States rose to a record high for a fourth month in a row, with consumers struggling to find material amid an ongoing shortage.

"We are maintaining a disciplined approach to order entry with the goal of on-time delivery to better serve our customers," a Galvalume producer said. "The end markets for Galvalume remain strong. Galvalume buyers in general are somewhat more concerned with availability than price."  Fastmarkets' monthly price assessment for steel coil Galvalume, fob mill US jumped to $75.50 per hundredweight ($1,510 per short ton) on Tuesday April 20, its highest since Fastmarkets began assessing this price in January 1994.
