US hot-rolled coil index crosses $70/cwt barrier

Hot-rolled coil prices in the United States breached the $70-per-hundredweight ($1,400-per-short-ton) threshold on Wednesday April 21, even as some sources said mills were working through the supply backlog and some spot tonnages appeared on the market.
