US hot-rolled coil index rebounds on steady demand

Hot-rolled coil prices in the United States rose on Monday July 27 on steadied demand levels and an improved market outlook, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' daily steel hot-rolled coil index, fob mill US was calculated at $22.52 per hundredweight ($450.40 per short ton) on Monday, a 2.3% increase from $22.02 per cwt on Friday July 24 but down by 1.8% from $22.94 per cwt a week earlier on July 20.

Inputs were received in a range of $21-23.50 per cwt, representing a comparatively narrow spread of $2.50 per cwt....
