Prices for hot-rolled coil in the United States ended the week to Friday September 10 by retreating below $97 per hundredweight, maintaining an roller-coaster pattern seen since late August.

Fastmarkets' daily steel hot-rolled coil index, fob mill US was calculated at $96.83 per hundredweight ($1,936.60 per short ton) on September 10, down by 0.29% from $97.11 per cwt on Thursday September 9, and down by 0.51% from the all-time high of $97.33 per cwt set one week earlier.It was the third time since August 27 that Fastmarkets' calculation has eclipsed $97...
