US hot-rolled coil index stable at $29/cwt; sentiment unchanged

Prices for hot-rolled coil in the United States are holding just above $29 per hundredweight ($580 per short ton) while sources continue to expect steady pricing and market activity for the near term.

Fastmarkets' daily steel hot-rolled coil index, fob mill US was calculated at $29.06 per cwt ($581.20 per ton) on Tuesday February 25, a decrease of 0.1% from $29.09 per cwt on February 24 but up by 0.3% from $28.98 per cwt a week earlier on February 18.
