US hot-rolled coil index tops $90/cwt for 3rd day in row

Hot-rolled coil prices in the United States topped $90 per hundredweight ($1,800 per short ton) for a third consecutive day, with mills providing only a limited amount spot material, market participants said.

Fastmarkets' daily steel hot-rolled coil index, fob mill US was calculated at $90.75 per cwt ($1,815 per ton) on Friday July 16, down by 0.20% from $90.93 per cwt on Thursday July 15 but up by 1.90% from $89.06 per cwt one week earlier.
