US imports of iron ore fall in February: USGS

Imports of iron ore into the United States tumbled by 38.5% month on month in February on lower shipments from Brazil and Canada, according to data from the US Geological Survey (USGS).

Iron ore imports totaled 246,000 tonnes in February, compared with 400,000 tonnes in January and 225,000 tonnes in December 2020. The February total was up by 5.58% from the 233,000 tonnes imported in the same month last year, AISI figures show.

Deliveries of iron ore from Brazil were down to 158,000 tonnes...
