US PIG IRON: Bookings paused awaiting clarity in scrap market

Booking activity in the United States import pig iron market has come to a standstill until the price trend in ferrous scrap for November becomes clear, sources told Fastmarkets on Friday November 1.

Fastmarkets' price assessment for pig iron, import, cfr Gulf of Mexico, US, was $310-312 per tonne on November 1, narrowing upward from $305-312 per tonne a week earlier.No new bookings of pig iron were heard during the week, after the latest series of purchases from both the Commonwealth of Independent States and Brazil a week earlier."If deals...
