Stainless steel scrap metal prices in the United States remain in a downward spiral with demand beginning to falter.

"Demand has dropped off as consumer lead times have shortened due to the current oversupply of raw materials... Why buy now when you can buy cheaper tomorrow?" one US processor source asked."It seems the stainless scrap situation is getting worse by the week," one major dealer in the US said, adding that those dealers and processors who have sold forward in anticipation of continued weakness are in a much better position than those banking on a quick...
