(IDEX Online) - Sales of watches and jewelry in the US enjoyed a sixth consecutive month of increase in November 2020, according to new Department of Commerce figures. They were up 16.6 per cent year-on-year, largely in line with the previous two months, once we take account of the revision downwards of the October figure (from 18.6 per cent to 15.9 per cent based on actual rather than forecast sales). Sales appear to have reached a healthy plateau after a disastrous April, and the dramatic recovery that then followed. Despite the ongoing pandemic, year-on-year sales figures for July to November 2020 have been higher than any time in the last three years. The graph below also incorporates further revisions to sales for July and August 2020 (up fractionally on reported figures last month) and September (fractionally down).IDEX Online subscribers please click here to read the full report.
