Usiminas' output, sales rise from 2019 levels; remains committed to local clients

Usiminas increased its output and domestic sales volumes over the past 45 days from first-quarter and 2019 volumes, the Brazil-based flat steel producer said in a filing to Brazilian securities and exchange commission CVM.

It produced 533,000 tonnes of rolled steel between November 1 and December 15, or around 11,800 tonnes per day, up by 0.2% from the daily average in January-March this year and by 6.4% from average numbers in 2019, it said on Wednesday December 16.
Usiminas' rolling output was 1.08 million tonnes in the first quarter and 4.06 million tonnes in 2019.
Meanwhile, total sales volumes were 577,600 tonnes during the 45-day period, or 12,800 tpd, it added. That daily average was up by 11.5% from the first quarter and by 14.1% from 2019 levels.
