Robert Dickinson was a gunnersmate 3rd class in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the original crew of the USS Queenfish (SS-393).During one of her battle patrols, the Queenfish sunk the Japanese ship the Awa Maru, which was supposedly carrying supplies for American POW's in Japan.
