Vale's Salobo copper mine halts production after fire

Brazilian miner Vale has halted copper concentrate production at its Salobo mine after a conveyor belt caught fire, the company said on Tuesday October 5.

The company expects to resume output by the end of October. Other mining activities and maintenance will continue as normal at the site, it said.

Salobo is located in Brazil's northern Par?? state and produced 172,700 tonnes...
