Venus Jewel Exec to Join DFL Group

RAPAPORT... Mahiar Borhanjoo is set to leave Venus Jewel Internationalto become CEO of the DFL Group, the company behind a new onlinepolished-diamond hub. Borhanjoo has been managing director of India-based Venus Jewel, aleading polished manufacturer and supplier, since 2015, overseeing atransformation of the company's brand and online platform, DFL said Friday.Hepreviously served six years as executive director of sales and sightholderservices at the Diamond Trading Company (DTC), the forerunner of De Beers'Global Sightholder Sales division. While at De Beers, he supervised thetransfer of DTC's operations from London to Gaborone, Botswana, in 2013. DFL launched UNI.Diamonds, an online diamond-tradingplatform, in October, vowing to offer online sales, financing and otherservices to polished suppliers and buyers. Borhanjoo will assume the new roleon June 17, the company added. "Mahiar is an exceptional business leader who has earnedtremendous success throughout his career," said Gil Melamed, a cofounder and boardmember at DFL.
