Vietnam HRC import prices slide after Russia's MMK lowers offers

Vietnamese HRC import prices fell this week after Russia's Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) lowered its offer prices for re-rolling-grade hot-rolled coil.

Metal Bulletin's weekly price assessment for HRC imports in Southeast Asia - which mainly looks at Chinese 2-3mm SAE1006 HRC and equivalent grades sold into Vietnam - was $570-580 per tonne for the week ending Monday September 24, down from $580-585 per tonne.There was a deal done at $575 per tonne cfr Vietnam for a large cargo from MMK early last week, but the producer dropped its offer prices to $570 per tonne cfr Vietnam towards the end of the week for large coils, and to $560...
