Why diamond miners were hit harder by COVID-19

COVID-19 was particularly disruptive to diamond miners, noted CEO of Lucara Diamond (TSE:LUC), Eira Thomas, who spoke to Kitco on Thursday.
The diamond supply chain has a lot of physical touchpoints, such as auctions and physical retail stores.
"Like a lot of luxury products, there was real limitations on moving diamonds around the world. People going to tenders to purchase diamonds are the traditional way that the diamond supply chain has worked," said Thomas.
