Zijin Mining to set up copper concs blending facility with Minmetals

Zijin Mining will set up a new copper concentrate blending facility through a joint venture (JV) with state-owned conglomerate Minmetals, Fastmarkets learned.

The blending facility will be in Lianyungang port of Jiangsu province and has already received preliminary approval from China's customs, four sources with knowledge of the matter said.
Pending approval from local customs, which market sources expect in a few weeks, the facility will be the latest in mainland China to treat complex concentrate that did not meet the country's import standard and is prohibited from entry, the sources said.
