Zinc TCs stable with smelters turning to domestic concs amid negative arbitrage

Fastmarkets' assessment of the zinc treatment charge (TC) was stable for a third time in a row on November 12, with a negative arbitrage and sufficient domestic production for winter stockpiles keeping Chinese smelters at bay.

The zinc spot concentrate TC, cif China was assessed at $75-88 per tonne on Friday, unchanged since September 24.
With only a few deals reported this week, smelter purchases remained above the $80-per-tonne mark, with buyers generally no longer entertaining offers below that level, market participants told Fastmarkets.
